TRMM V6 Reprocessing Trending Results |
TSDIS started reprocessing all TRMM data as of April
1, 2004 with the V6 algorithms. The earliest data date is Dec. 8, 1997, however
not all instruments were operational at that time. TSDIS performs reprocessing
at an accelerated rate, sometimes producing 15 data days per day.
The trending software is run on each orbit of data producing ASCII files that contain the sum, sum of squares and count information of each variable along with other bookeeping information. These trend files are then used to make the various graphs shown below.
The ASCII trend files can be downloaded from the V6 RP Trend Data Files Page

Graphs
Time Series Plots and Histogram
Below are the trending graphs organized by algorithm.
Time
series plots display the mean and standard deviation of a variable
per day.
The average of the daily means is listed on the x-axis.
Histogram
plots The vertical lines in the graphs denote the means the
distributions. The base data for the histograms are the means computed from
every orbit in the trend files. Histograms
are presented in terms of % of data.
